Trust for Public Land - Community Schoolyards Program (USA)
Schoolyard Redevelopment: Schoolyards are transformed from mostly paved spaces into multipurpose parks, with trees, gardens, play equipment, and trails that encourage physical activity. The goal is to create green oases in neighborhoods that lack access to parks and recreational areas
Public Access: During school hours, playgrounds are reserved for students, but after school hours and on weekends, these spaces become accessible to the entire local community. This provides an important resource for recreation, physical activity, and socialization in neighborhoods that may not have sufficient public parks.
